Cambria Hotel White Plains - Downtown

The front desk wasn't rude, but they weren't friendly either. I think they need more training in hospitality and customer service. It was our first visit and we didn't know where anything was located. We got our room keys and weren't told where our room was. I had to ask OK, how do you get there? They just hand you the key and expect you to know your way around. I didn't even know they had a pool until I saw a review on here. The person at the desk said breakfast was from 6 to 9 for $20 per person, which I thought was ridiculous! There is no water in our room. $27 for parking 1 night crazy. We went to pick our car up from the valet. guy ignored us standing there. I had to ask him if he worked there. He then asked us if we texted to get our car. Which we didn't, but he ended up bringing our car out. I probably won't stay here again because I was also charged twice for the room. I called the hotel and was transferred to a voice mail and left a message, and no one returned my call as of yet. I like that they have 12pm checkout.

First and foremost, I want to commend the honesty and integrity of the staff at this location. Only after flying home did I realize I'd left my expensive earbuds in our room--a pretty easy thing to just "not find," which has been my experience at some other hotels. I called, and was told that they had already been found and logged. I emailed a shipping label, and had the earbuds back within a week. That was a great cap on a pleasant stay. The hotel itself is very nice. Beautiful lobby. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, comfortable, and perhaps most importantly: the water pressure is great. The location is also great. Steps from coffee, shops, and restaurants. And a short walk to the train that you can take into the city if you so desire. I would absolutely stay here again.
